In the fall of 2020 Dr. Helgadottir returned to face-to-face and Telehealth clinical practice as a PhD, Registered psychologist in Vancouver, BC, Canada. She is also a registered clinical psychologist in Iceland and sees clients via Telehealth.

  • From 2018-2020 Dr. Helgadottir was in Iceland running a CBT clinic in Reykjavik and conducting research with Icelandic, Australian and Canadian universities.

  • From 2015 to 2018 Dr. Helgadottir worked at the Vancouver CBT Centre, and did research in collaboration with UBC.

  • From 2011 - 2015 Dr. Helgadottir worked as a Senior Research Clinician at the University of Oxford in England, and founded AI-Therapy, a fully automated treatment programs for social anxiety, fertility stress and death anxiety.

  • From 2005-2011 Dr. Helgadottir completed her clinical training and PhD in Perth and Sydney, Australia and ran her own CBT clinic. Dr. Helgadottir trained in a variety of settings as a psychologist, including hospitals, schools, clinics and treatment centers.


Dr. Helgadottir became fully registered by the College of Psychologist in British Columbia in 2016. Over the past 2 decades, Dr. Helgadottir has specialized in evidence-based treatment for complex psychological conditions. Her main areas of expertise are Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Health Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Fear of flying and more.

Dr. Helgadottir has been using Telehealth and innovating in health care since 2007. She received the Tracey Goodall Early Career Award for her innovations in online treatment. Dr. Helgadottir has also been involved in teaching cognitive behavior therapy over the years. Most recently she has hosted workshops for professionals on Panic Disorder and has been doing clinical research in collaboration with several Universities around the globe.

In our clinical work we are data-driven. We conduct assessments before each session to focus our clinical care.
